Scannell & Kurz was engaged in 2003 and again in 2006, 2009, and 2011 to review pricing and financial aid strategies for new students in order to enhance the institution’s understanding of the price sensitivity of the College’s admit pool and, in particular, certain subpopulations. Historically, the focus of the aid program had been to serve the economically disadvantaged. While access continues to be a critical part of the institution’s mission, influencing the student profile has become increasingly important as well. In addition, for the 2009 review, the College had the goal of recovering from the economic downturn.
Results of Our Work Together
The recovery was quick and dramatic: the discount rate came down without sacrificing socio-economic diversity. In addition, average SAT (CR & Math) increased significantly from 1080 in 2006, to 1103 in 2010, to 1106 in 2011.

I particularly appreciate their ability to understand institutional objectives and to develop solutions that fit our situation. An unanticipated benefit - the S&K Team has become trusted advisers on a wide range of educational issues."
