SKORE (Scannell & Kurz Online Reporting Environment)

As enrollment management becomes more sophisticated, the demand for data for decision making grows exponentially.  But at many institutions, getting usable data out of the student system requires extensive IT support as well as commitment to programming resources within user offices.

S&K developed SKORE to address this growing need for easy to use, customized, enrollment management reports.

SKORE (Scannell Kurz Online Reporting Environment)...

is a Web-based reporting tool that allows enrollment management offices to easily produce both standard and customized reports in a secure environment.  Institutions using SKORE can produce both in-process tracking reports and year-end analytics to understand trends in recruitment, retention, and financial aid and explore the impact of grant, need, and other variables on enrollment behavior.

Data...

To use SKORE, institutions must put their admissions, financial aid, and enrollment data in a particular format for loading into the tool.  Space for institutionally specific variables is also provided.  Data files can be uploaded into the tool as often as desired, and the software provides data integrity features to catch common errors as part of the validation process.

Features and Benefits...

Standard reports include:

  • Yield tables segmented by institutionally selected subpopulations
  • Cohort retention tables segmented by subpopulations
  • Matrix tables showing yields, average institutional grant offered and accepted, and average enrolled NTR by institutionally defined quality and need categories.
  • Means reports showing totals, averages, minimum and maximum values for selected variables.  These reports can be run for admitted, enrolled, and non-enrolled students, as well as for subpopulations (e.g., minority students, in-state students, etc.)
  • Frequency distributions on any of the variables provided.  For example, this function can be used to easily identify feeder high schools, potential recruitment territories, or to simply get a fast look at trends in the data.

The tool also allows institutions to create their own variables and categories to provide maximum flexibility in defining subpopulations for reporting purposes.

Service...

SKORE services begin with a detailed demonstration of the tool and a discussion of the data set requirements.  A user's manual is also provided.  When the data file is ready to load, S&K are available to answer questions about the load process and help institutions resolve any issues identified by the validation process.  In addition, S&K staff can help with any questions that may arise about creating institutionally specific reports.
